Louise Taggart

Louise has always provided support for business managers in one way or another. She worked as an in-house advisor for 12 years and then set up Tag Corporate Services Limited in 2002 to provide unregulated legal services to corporate clients.

Now, after completing a law degree and postgraduate diploma in legal practice Louise feels passionate that corporate clients want legal services delivered in a way that can not always be achieved by law firms who can be detached and expensive! Louise wants to practice law, not preach it!

BEFORE MyLegalTeam

In-house legal advisor at Biffa Waste Services Limited.

After working as group secretary/PA in various industries (including property development, financial, British Standards Institute and garage doors!) Louise eventually realised that she wanted to practice law when she was assisting the assistant of the Company Secretary!  In 1991 Louise joined Biffa as a personal secretary and left Biffa 12 years later as a Chartered Secretary/Deputy Company Secretary.  In 2002 Louise set up Tag Corporate Services Limited, t/a mylegalteam.

Louise has worked with, amongst others, doctors, scientists, solicitors, engineers and entrepreneurs who, together with her family, have all inspired and supported her in different ways so that the people Louise has worked with have been a highlight of her career.  Louise never thought, as a 16 year old aspiring to be a personal secretary, that she would be a member of a team undertaking a £380m corporate acquisition, defend an alleged breach of the Competition Act 1998, carry out corporate administration for a group of 52 companies, be instrumental in corporate and environmental compliance and decision making and set up and run her own company including tackling the intricacies of VAT and PAYE!

Louise has gained the following experience:
  • Corporate law – compliance with Companies Act and company constitution    documents
  • Environmental law (relevant to waste) – compliance
  • Commercial law – standard and bespoke contracts for sale of goods/services,
  • distribution agreements and licence agreements
  • Corporate acquisitions and disposals
  • Incorporating a company, PAYE, VAT and basic accounting

Louise’s qualifications include a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice with Distinction, a LL.B (Hons) and a Graduate Diploma in Law with Commendation.  Further, Louise was a Chartered Secretary for the period 1998 to 2010.
